The food is amazing here! Everything is cooked to perfection!! The pastrami sandwich and the fried chicken sandwich are to die for. And get the BANANA CREAM PIEE SOO GOODD not too sweet and I love the consistency of it 100% recommend :) However would not recommend the hot dog it was dry!
I went for the first time last night and got Johnny's Fries with extra meat and cheese. Omg! One of the best things I've tasted on a minute! The pastrami was so effin good. I restrained myself from getting it again today... but I'm probably going to get out tomorrow. As soon as I got in the car, I started snacking on it, so there's already some missing in my first picture... you can see the aftermath in the other picture... See y'all tomorrow! 9/29/24 - I had to have the Fries again! So here we are, less than 48hrs ago I had these for the first time... and now I'm addicted!
The pastrami sandwich was very tender and delicious. Probably one of the better pastrami's out there, especially better than the johnny's pastrami in culver city. The pastrami is not overly salty and a good mixture with the tartine marbled rye bread. There is a bit of a wait in line when getting the orders and also waiting on the food. There is shaded and unshaded seating. Parking is a bit hard to find.
Stopped by Johnny's for lunch as I was in the mood for some pastrami. I ordered the pastrami dip (with cheese) and I was not disappointed. The pastrami was great, flavorful but not too fatty. The mustard and pickles were the perfect complement. The sandwich came with an option of potato salad or coleslaw. I went with the coleslaw. There was an additional pickle plate that came with the sandwich which was excellent. The outdoor seating was great for lunch.
Great stop for lunch! I loved the French dip pastrami sandwich. Soft bread with loads of thinly sliced pastrami meat. Not as salty as the pastrami at The Hat. I wish they dipped their bread in more jus though. If you're like me and like a wetter sandwich, be sure to order some extra jus. The half pastrami sandwich was also good. It came with thick slices of pastrami and the meat itself was excellent. I didn't like it as much though because the bread was so hard it injured my mouth. If you're familiar with Tartine bread, you'll know what to expect. Grilled cheese was surprisingly good! I guess it's hard to mess up a basic grilled cheese, but the one here was extra cheesy and delicious and I'd get it again. The ladies working at the ordering and pick up windows were super sweet and didn't make anyone feel rushed. Street parking can be tough to find, but it's doable. They have plenty of outdoor bench seating in a cute patio area.
Legit legit legit pastrami Reuben sandwich! I'm normally a corned beef kind of guy but I do have to say this was some of the best pastrami I've tasted. Tender. Flavorful. The fries are also fantastic. I'm not even talking about their signature specialty fries with pastrami on top. I just talking about their basic crinkle cut fries. They have a ton of outdoor seating. I mean a ton. We came on a Tuesday so there was plenty of space. I'm not sure what it's like on a Friday or Saturday. Judging by just the amount of seating, I'm guessing it must be pretty packed.
Came back! Really missed their pastrami! Still good their food! Same quality and taste! Really love and I been telling my friends the best pastrami in LA! Even with this heat their patio has big fan cooling down. Loved cool breeze and enjoyed eating there! Of course the cashier was super nice and friendly! There is water taps at the corner did not expect would be cold but it was very cool enough not needed ice. :) Next time wanna try hot dog!
Johnny's Pastrami offers delicious burgers, sandwiches and sides , but what makes it extra fun is the outdoor seating and bar! It 's a fun space to gather with a large crowd - lots of shareable sides (chicken tenders, onion rings, fries). The Johnny's fries were delicious - comes loaded with cheese, pastrami bites, and their special sauce. The citrus and thai basil drink was so light and refreshing and helped with the greasiness of the food.
